Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable SENCO to join a committed team at a vibrant school in Barnet. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher with a passion for inclusive education and supporting pupils with additional needs. Starting September 2025.

Duties as a SENCO Teacher:

  • Lead the strategic development of SEND provision across the school.

  • Identify pupils’ needs and coordinate support and interventions.

  • Work closely with teachers, TAs, external agencies, and families.

  • Manage the SEND register and oversee EHCP applications and reviews.

  • Monitor and track progress of SEND pupils to ensure high-quality outcomes.

  • Provide training and support for staff on inclusive practices and differentiation.

Ideal SENCO Teacher:

  • Is a qualified teacher with QTS.

  • Has completed or is working towards the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO).

  • Has experience supporting children with a wide range of special educational needs.

  • Demonstrates excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills as a SENCO Teacher.

  • Has a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation.

  • Is committed to ensuring every child achieves their full potential.
