SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)
Outstanding Primary School – Hackney, East London

Contract Type: Permanent
Working Pattern: Full Time or Part Time (3 days per week)
We are seeking a committed, ambitious and experienced SENCO to join our thriving, inclusive, and Outstanding-rated primary school in the heart of Hackney from September 2025.

The Role:
We are looking for a SENCO who shares our passion for inclusion and excellence. You will lead on the strategic development of our SEND provision, working closely with staff, parents and external professionals to ensure that all our learners are supported to achieve their full potential.
Key SENCO responsibilities include:
• Leading and managing the provision for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
• Coordinating high-quality interventions and ensuring inclusive classroom practice
• Supporting teachers to meet the needs of all learners through high-quality CPD and coaching
• Working with families and external agencies to secure the best outcomes for pupils
• Monitoring and evaluating SEND provision and reporting to senior leaders and governors
We are looking for a SENCO who:
• Holds the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO)
• Has successful experience as a SENCO or teacher with a strong understanding of inclusive practice
• Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Has a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and current best practice
• Believes that every child can succeed and is relentless in breaking down barriers to learning
