Role: SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)
Nature: Maternity Cover, Full-Time
Start: April 2025
Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance

A high-achieving secondary school in Enfield is seeking an experienced and dedicated SENCO to cover a maternity leave starting in April 2024. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate SEN professional to lead and coordinate special educational needs (SEN) provision, ensuring that all students receive the tailored support they need to succeed.

Role Highlights:
  • Lead the school’s SEN provision, ensuring high-quality support for students with additional needs
  • Work closely with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to develop effective interventions and strategies
  • Manage EHCP processes and ensure compliance with SEN legislation
  • Provide guidance and training to staff to support inclusive teaching practices
  • Oversee SEN assessments, monitor student progress, and adapt interventions as necessary
  • Collaborate with parents, carers, and multi-agency professionals to ensure holistic support for students
  • Contribute to the school’s inclusive ethos and commitment to student success
Experience & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • NASENCO qualification (or working towards it) preferred
  • Experience working as a SENCO or in a senior SEN role within a secondary setting
  • Strong knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and EHCP procedures
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and external professionals
  • Enhanced DBS check required
