Are you a SENCo looking for an exciting new opportunity?

Are you in search of a fast-paced environment and highly rewarding role?

Do you want the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with significant needs?

Would you like to work from home one day a week?

A therapeutic organisation that caters to young people with significant and complex SEND who cannot be supported in mainstream schools. These young people all have EHCPs. The organisation supports a diverse group of young people with increasingly complex needs, including those with SEMH, neurodiversity, sexual harmful behaviours, young carers, involvement in county lines, those in residential care homes with severe mental health needs, and children looked after. Many of these young people have experienced trauma and may have a history of negative experiences with education.

SENCo role
  • Managing and maintaining EHCPs, including attending meetings and managing annual reviews.
  • Developing and implementing effective destination planning and access arrangements.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for local authorities, requiring excellent communication and responsiveness.
  • Working collaboratively with a dedicated team to support young people who schools cannot typically work with due to their significant and complex needs.
  • A thorough understanding of the statutory framework for SEND and the EHCP process.
  • Proven ability to manage a high workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A clear understanding of the challenges faced by disadvantaged and hard-to-reach young people with trauma backgrounds.
  • Experience working in PRUs or similar alternative provision settings will be extremely beneficial.
  • Initiative, drive, and the ability to work as a senior leader.
  • A supportive and dedicated team environment.
  • Access to ongoing training and professional development, including weekly training sessions.
  • Involvement in innovative projects.
