A highly regarded secondary school in Slough is seeking an experienced and dedicated SENCO to lead and enhance the provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Your Role as SENCO:
- Oversee the provision for students with SEND, ensuring high-quality, tailored support that promotes inclusion and achievement.
- Work closely with teachers, teaching assistants, and pastoral staff to implement strategies that support students with diverse needs.
- Coordinate EHCPs, assessments, and intervention programs in collaboration with external professionals, parents, and carers.
- Provide training and guidance to teaching staff to enhance their ability to differentiate and meet the needs of all learners.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of interventions and support strategies to ensure continuous improvement in SEND provision.
- Act as an advocate for students with SEND, ensuring their voices are heard and that they receive the best possible educational experience.
Who We’re Looking For:
- A qualified teacher with a passion for SEND and a proven track record of supporting students with additional needs.
- NASENCO qualification (or willingness to obtain it).
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and coordinate a team of support staff.
- Excellent knowledge of SEND legislation, including the SEND Code of Practice and EHCP processes.
- A patient, empathetic, and strategic approach to SEND leadership.
- An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
