SENDCo Urgently Required in Near Redhill, Surrey - Lead and Shape Inclusive Education at a New and Exciting School

Are you a passionate and experienced SENCO with a vision for creating a truly inclusive learning environment?

We are seeking a dedicated and innovative SENDCo to join our team at a brand new, state-of-the-art SEND Secondary School in Merstham, Surrey. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the school's SEN provision from the ground up, ensuring that all students, regardless of their needs, have access to a high-quality and enriching education.

About the Role:

  • You will work closely with the Head of School in all aspects of leadership and management.
  • You will take responsibility for managing and developing learning and teaching, curriculum, careers & work experience, assessment, and enrichment throughout the designated phases of the school.
  • You will be the lead professional for SEN, providing expert guidance and support to staff, students, and parents.
  • You will develop and implement a comprehensive SEN policy and strategy, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and best practice.
  • You will lead the school's SEN team, providing training, support, and guidance to staff on effective SEN practices.
  • You will work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure that students with SEN receive the appropriate support and interventions.
  • You will be responsible for the assessment, monitoring, and review of students with SEN, ensuring that their needs are met and their progress is tracked.


What We're Looking For:

  • A qualified teacher (QTS) with a proven track record of successful teaching and a strong understanding of SEN.
  • A recognised SENCO qualification (e.g., National SENCO Award).
  • Experience in developing and implementing effective SEN policies and strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with staff, students, and parents.
  • A commitment to creating a truly inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.
