Job description

Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced and committed Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to work on a part-time basis across a number of primary schools with specialist SEND provisions in the London Borough of Hillingdon.

Job Details:

  • Position: Part-Time SENCO

  • Location: Hillingdon (multiple school sites)

  • Start Date: Flexible - immediate and future opportunities available

  • Working Pattern: 2 to 3 days per week (flexible)

  • Contract Type: Ongoing supply / temporary, with potential for long-term placements

Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support on the strategic development of SEND provision across schools

  • Work closely with school leadership teams, teachers, and support staff to ensure effective implementation of EHCPs

  • Provide expert advice and guidance on SEN policy and practice

  • Liaise effectively with parents, external professionals, and the local authority

  • Maintain accurate records, including SEN registers and provision maps

Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • National Award for SEN Coordination (or significant SENCO experience)

  • A sound understanding of the SEND Code of Practice

  • Experience working with children with a range of special educational needs

  • Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills

  • Willingness and ability to travel between school sites within Hillingdon
