Here at TPTUTORS, we are looking to build our tutor talent pool to support our clients with various student referrals.

Job Description:

We are currently seeking experienced tutors to join our team. The ideal candidates will have extensive experience in Special Educational Needs (SEN) and be willing to work around 10-15 hours per week on a part-time basis. We also have roles starting from 1 hour per week. Each referral requires patience and a focus on delivering tuition in core subjects, with occasional referrals for other subjects such as business studies or languages. We provide both in-person (at students’ homes or public areas like libraries or community centres) and online tuition to Local Authorities and Schools.

Job Duties:
  1. Provide tailored educational support to students with SEN in requested subjects, developing your own materials and lesson plans to demonstrate your ability to facilitate educational progress.
  2. Complete session reports after each session using our virtual reporting platform. These reports are monitored by the consultant and client and are used in annual and EHCP meetings. Accurate and detailed reporting is essential, as it also triggers your payment for each session.
  3. Assess students' progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly, demonstrating flexibility and patience. Use assessments available on our platform to measure progress at the start and end of tuition.
  4. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and relevant consultants, and report any challenges to ensure appropriate support and safeguarding.
Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:
  • A degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of tutoring or teaching experience
  • Strong knowledge of the UK education system
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to individual student needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Working Conditions:
  • Part-time hours, starting from 1 hour per week
  • Temporary positions lasting until a student gains a school placement, with some roles extending over multiple academic years
  • Flexible scheduling based on mutual availability, with some requests for specific times/days, but generally arranged between tutor and parent/carer
Requirements if Successful:
  • A Microsoft Teams interview to discuss your experience and the process
  • DBS check on the update service (application assistance available; cost borne by applicant)
  • Career history covering 10 years
  • References covering 5 years
  • Proof of right to work
  • Proof of address
  • Safeguarding training certificate (training provided)
  • Proof of name change (if applicable)
