Job description

Job Advert: SEN Tutor (QTS) - Leicester

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Tutor to provide 1:1 support for a child with Autism in their family home in Leicester. The child is non-verbal and can exhibit challenging behaviours. No specific triggers have been identified by the SEN school, though these behaviours are likely linked to communication difficulties.

Role Details:

  • Location: Leicester
  • Hours: 15 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored educational and developmental support in line with the child's individual needs
  • Implement strategies to support communication and engagement
  • Manage challenging behaviours with patience and understanding
  • Work closely with the family and any other professionals involved in the child's care

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - Essential
  • Experience working with children with Autism and complex needs
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to support non-verbal communication
  • Experience working in a home-based setting is desirable
  • Patience, resilience, and a calm approach to managing challenging behaviours
