Overview
SEN Tutor
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 tutoring for a pupil in a SEN setting, with a focus on developing learning plans and supporting their educational development.
- Create and deliver learning plans on a 1:1 basis; a therapeutic approach may be needed to re-engage students with their learning.
- Help provide structure in the pupil’s daily routine and support their progress toward returning to an educational setting.
- Monitor progression with each pupil and submit weekly reports to the agency.
- Sessions generally take place during school daytime hours, with occasional opportunities after school (3–4 pm) and evenings.
- Session lengths range from 1–4 hours, on a daily or weekly basis.
Contract and Location
- Location: within the community or pupil’s home in Rochdale.
- Position: SEN Tutor
- Type of work: Contract
- Start date: ASAP
- Duration: ongoing support
- Part-time
- Hours: 8 am – 4 pm
- Minimum rate of pay: GBP 25/hr
Requirements
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS on Update Service
- Overseas Police Check (if applicable)
- 2 years of professional references
- QTS or equivalent tutoring experience
- Experience working within a SEN setting (preferred, but not required)
