Overview

SEN Tutor - Community Based (9am - 3pm)

We are seeking a patient, creative and dedicated SEN Tutor to provide 1:1 support for a child with complex needs in the community. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference, helping to develop confidence, independence and key learning skills outside of a school setting.

Role Details
  • Hours: 9:00am - 3:00pm (Monday - Friday)
  • Location: Community-based role, supporting the child in daily learning and life skills
  • Support Needs: Complex needs, requiring a personalised, flexible approach to learning and engagement
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver tailored learning activities in line with the child\'s individual needs and abilities
  • Use creative strategies to engage the child in learning, social interaction and personal development
  • Promote independence and confidence through structured routines and positive reinforcement
  • Collaborate with parents, therapists and other professionals to ensure a consistent approach
  • Maintain clear records of progress and daily activities
About You
  • Experienced in supporting children with complex needs, ideally in SEN or therapeutic settings
  • Patient, empathetic and resilient, with the ability to adapt approaches when needed
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Able to work independently, with initiative and creativity
  • Relevant qualifications (teaching, SEN, childcare or therapeutic background) desirable but not essential
