Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Pre-SIP Tutor to support learners in Taunton on a specialist educational programme. You will manage a small caseload, delivering tailored educational support on a 1:1 basis or in very small groups of up to three learners.

You will build positive relationships, develop personalised learning plans, and help learners progress academically, socially and emotionally, with a long-term block booking and potential permanent opportunities.

Qualifications

• Holds a recognised teaching or training qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, Level 3 Award in Education and Training or equivalent).
• GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).
• Experience teaching or supporting young people with SEND, SEMH, EHCPs or other additional needs.
• Confident delivering personalised learning programmes.
• Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
• Patient, resilient and able to build strong professional relationships.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Functional Skills English and Maths where appropriate.

Taunton | 1:1 & Small Group Teaching | Temp to Perm Opportunity

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Tutor to support learners on a specialist educational programme in the Taunton area.

This is a highly rewarding role working with young people who may have faced barriers to education and require additional support to re-engage with learning. Due to the nature of the provision, we are looking for someone who can commit to a long-term block booking, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position should the placement be successful.

About the Role

As a Pre-SIP Tutor, you will manage a small caseload of learners, delivering tailored educational support on a one-to-one basis or in very small groups of up to three learners.

You will be responsible for building positive relationships, developing personalised learning plans, and helping learners make progress academically, socially and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, personalised lessons to learners on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
• Support learners with a range of complex and vulnerable backgrounds
• Deliver Functional Skills English and Maths where appropriate
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet individual needs and learning styles
• Monitor learner progress and maintain accurate records
• Build positive, trusting relationships that encourage engagement and achievement
• Work collaboratively with other professionals to support learner outcomes

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds a recognised teaching or training qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, Level 3 Award in Education and Training or equivalent)
• Has GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent)
• Has experience teaching or supporting young people with SEND, SEMH, EHCPs or other additional needs
• Is confident delivering personalised learning programmes
• Has excellent communication and behaviour management skills
• Is patient, resilient and able to build strong professional relationships
• Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one
