Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking SEN 1:1 Tutors to provide personalised tuition for pupils with SEND across Leicestershire and surrounding areas. Roles include flexible part-time and full-time opportunities, with sessions during school hours and travel to pupil locations as required.

Role involves delivering 1:1 tuition, adapting strategies for SEND needs, and tracking pupil progress in line with EHCP targets. Competitive pay and supportive consultative structure are offered.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years' UK teaching experience.
  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum and differentiated teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication, behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, or the ability to travel between tuition locations.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and personalised 1:1 tuition tailored to each pupil's individual needs.
  • Adapt teaching strategies and resources to support a range of SEND needs.
  • Plan and deliver lessons that promote academic progress, confidence and independence.
  • Monitor pupil progress and complete session reports after each lesson.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, families, schools and relevant professionals.
  • Encourage pupils to develop resilience, engagement and a positive attitude towards learning.
  • Create a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support pupils in working towards targets outlined in their individual education plans or EHCPs, where applicable.

Are you an experienced teacher or tutor with a passion for supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?

TP Tutors, part of Teaching Personnel, is looking for dedicated SEN 1:1 Tutors to provide personalised tuition to pupils across Leicestershire and surrounding areas. Sessions may take place in pupils' homes, schools or suitable community settings during school hours.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them build confidence, re-engage with education and make meaningful academic progress.

Pay

Competitive pay, depending on experience, qualifications, the pupil's needs and the tuition assignment.

Working Pattern
  • Flexible part-time and full-time opportunities.
  • Tuition delivered during school hours, Monday to Friday.
  • Long-term and ongoing tuition assignments available.
  • Travel to pupils' homes, schools or community venues across Leicestershire and nearby areas may be required.

Must-Have Requirements
  • Minimum of two years' UK teaching experience.
  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND.

Nice-to-Have
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE or another recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, SEMH needs, speech and language needs, dyslexia or other additional learning needs.
  • Experience delivering tuition in alternative provision, specialist settings or pupils' homes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Previous experience working with pupils who have experienced barriers to accessing mainstream education.

Location

This role is primarily based across Leicestershire, with opportunities available in Leicester, Loughborough, Hinckley, Melton Mowbray, Market Harborough, Coalville and surrounding areas, depending on pupil requirements.
