Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking an experienced SEN Specialist Tutor to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition across Bedford and surrounding areas, in pupils' homes, schools or community settings, primarily during school hours. The role offers flexible part-time and full-time opportunities with tuition during school hours and potential long-term assignments.

Travel between locations may be required. You will tailor lessons, adapt strategies for SEND needs, and monitor pupil progress to help

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years' UK teaching or tutoring experience.
  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
  • Strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum and differentiated teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication, behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet individual needs.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, or reliable travel arrangements.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Desirable: QTS, PGCE or another recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience supporting pupils with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, dyslexia, speech and language needs.

  • Deliver engaging and personalised 1:1 tuition based on each pupil's individual needs.
  • Adapt teaching strategies, resources and activities to support different SEND needs.
  • Plan lessons that promote academic progress, confidence and independence.
  • Support pupils with their individual learning targets and EHCP outcomes where applicable.
  • Monitor pupil progress and complete session reports.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, families, schools and relevant professionals.
  • Encourage pupils to develop confidence, resilience and a positive attitude towards learning.
  • Create a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support pupils who may have experienced barriers to accessing mainstream education.

Are you an experienced teacher or tutor with a passion for supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?

TP Tutors, part of Teaching Personnel

TP Tutors, part of Teaching Personnel, is looking for dedicated SEN Specialist Tutors to provide personalised 1:1 tuition to pupils across Bedford and the surrounding areas. Tuition may take place in pupils' homes, schools or suitable community settings, primarily during school hours.

Pay

Competitive pay depending on experience, qualifications, pupil needs and the tuition assignment.

Working Pattern
  • Flexible part-time and full-time opportunities.

Must-Have Requirements
