Overview

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges? Prospero Teaching are seeking dedicated SEN Tutors to join our growing team in and around BN27.

Role and Responsibilities

As an SEN Tutor, you will work with learners aged 4 to 18 years old, delivering tailored tuition in English and Maths. Our students require flexible support, with tuition hours varying based on individual needs. You'll be helping young people build confidence, develop essential skills, and achieve their learning goals in a safe and supportive environment.

  • Create a supportive and encouraging learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with the student and their family to set achievable goals.

  • Experienced in working with children and young people with SEN and SEMH needs.
  • Able to adapt teaching strategies to suit individual learning styles.
  • Skilled in delivering English and Maths tuition.
  • Available for part-time or full-time hours.
  • Have at least 1 year of experience working in UK schools.

Essential & Desirable Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of UK school experience.
  • Proven experience supporting learners with additional needs.
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Relevant teaching or tutoring qualifications (desirable but not essential).

To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching, you must:

  • Hold right to work in the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
  • Provide references upon request.
  • Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this).
