Job description

Job Title: SEN Tutor

Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced, passionate, and patient SEN Tutor. In this role, you will create, plan, and deliver 1:1 tailored lessons as an alternative form of education. Your aim will be to support and re-engage pupils in their learning, reintroduce structure into their daily routines, promote educational development, and facilitate their return to school. You may also assist young people in accessing the community and developing life skills. The ideal candidate will be patient, empathetic, and understanding.

Role Details

• Ongoing placement, or until the young person finds a suitable school placement
• Hours dependent on the young person's needs
• Pay rate: GBP25 – GBP30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

Candidate Requirements

• Experience working with SEN students on a 1:1 or small group basis
• QTS is desirable but not essential
• Creativity, patience, and willingness to think outside the box
• Experience with challenging behaviour and disengaged pupils

• Right to work in the UK
• Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or willingness to complete a new application
• References covering the last two years of employment
• Ability to commit to the young person and work for the duration of the placement
