Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated SEN Tutor in Ashford to provide personalised 1:1 tuition for a learner in the local area. The role may involve visits to the learner’s home, libraries or community locations outside of mainstream settings.

The ideal candidate will have QTS/ QTLS / PGCE / EYFS or equivalent, at least 6 months’ UK school experience, and be prepared to complete safeguarding checks. Right to Work in the UK is required.

SEN Tutor - Ashford

Prospero Teaching are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Tutor to provide personalised 1:1 tuition to a learner in Ashford.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tutor or teacher who is confident adapting lessons to suit individual needs and can build a positive, supportive relationship with a learner who may have experienced barriers to education. Often the successful candidate would be required to conduct lessons in the young person's home, in local council libraries, youth centres or other locations outside of the mainstream learning environment.

• Full time/part time - Part time and full time depending on availability
• Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate 25 per hour. The hourly rate will be in line with professional pay scales where these are available or based on experience if they are not available.
• Hours - Working hours can differentiate, minimum 1 hour per session and a maximum of 3 hours per session

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS or equivalent
• 6 months+ experience working in a UK school

To be eligible for the Part Time 1:1 SEN Tutor position through Prospero Teaching you must:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
