Job summary

Remedy Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced SEN Tutor to provide one-to-one tuition across Peterborough and surrounding areas. Flexible hours, with part-time and full-time opportunities, allow tutors to re-engage learners who require personalised support.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years' experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
  • Strong understanding of a range of SEND profiles.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to engage learners who may have experienced significant barriers to education.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Commitment to safeguarding and improving outcomes for vulnerable learners.
  • QTS, PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • SEND-specific training or qualifications.
  • Experience supporting learners with EHCPs.
  • Experience within alternative provision, specialist settings, or outreach tuition.

Responsibilities

  • Support progress towards EHCP outcomes and educational targets.

About the Role

You will deliver tailored one-to-one tuition programmes to children and young people with a range of additional needs, helping them re-engage with learning, develop confidence, and achieve positive educational outcomes.

Most learners receive between 10-15 hours of tuition per week, with opportunities to work with multiple students depending on your availability.

You will be supporting learners with needs including:
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • ADHD
  • SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs)
  • Dyslexia
  • Dyscalculia
  • Speech and Language Difficulties
  • Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA)
  • Anxiety-related barriers to education
Key Responsibilities
