Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking an experienced SEN Tutor to deliver 1:1 tuition to children and young people in Peterborough and surrounding areas, tailoring sessions to individual needs and building strong relationships with learners and families.

This ongoing long-term role offers flexible hours, typically 10–15 hours weekly, with competitive pay of £25–£35 per hour, consistent referrals, and dedicated consultant support to help you secure regular tuition opportunities.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
• Strong knowledge of a range of SEND needs.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Experience engaging learners who have faced barriers to education.

About the Role

• Deliver personalised 1:1 tuition to children and young people who require specialist educational support.
• Work closely with learners and families to create engaging, tailored sessions that build confidence, develop skills, and help students overcome barriers to learning.
• Most learners receive 10‑15 hours of tuition per week, with opportunities to increase your workload based on your availability.
• Support learners with:
• Autism (ASD)
• ADHD
• SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health)

• Dyscalculia
• Speech & Language Needs
• Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA)
• Anxiety and other barriers to education

Essential Requirements

• At least 2 years’ experience supporting children or young people with SEND.

• Experience engaging learners who have faced barriers to education.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Commitment to safeguarding and improving outcomes for young people.

Desirable

• QTS, PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
• SEND‑specific qualifications or training.
• Experience working with EHCPs.
• Experience in specialist schools, outreach, or alternative provision.
