Responsibilities:

  1. To lead and manage allocated cases within SENDIST Tribunal processes to ensure that all legal deadline dates are met and that all case preparation is in line with Tribunal rules.
  2. To lead and attend Way Forward, Mediation and pre-Tribunal meetings as required.
  3. To represent the LA at SEND Tribunals where necessary.
  4. To provide professional support, challenge and advice (including training where required).
  5. To work with Headteachers, SENCOs, Governing Bodies/Academy Trusts to ensure they are compliant with the SEND Code of Practice and Disability Discrimination Act.
  6. To collaborate with schools and partner agencies to adhere to the time scales set out in the SEND Code of Practice.
  7. To maintain effective communication with key statutory and voluntary sector partners, including attendance at multi-professional planning meetings and child protection case conferences.
  8. To stay updated on changes to legislation, policies, procedures, and current guidance to ensure staff are informed.
