Job Description:

Location: Remote

Contract: 3 months initially

We are currently recruiting for an experienced SEN Tribunal Officer on behalf of a public sector organisation. This role focuses on managing and defending appeals within the SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) framework, ensuring fair and professional handling of all tribunal-related matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Defend appeals brought against the organisation in relation to SEND decisions.
  • Facilitate discussions between educational settings and families, with the goal of reaching amicable resolutions before formal tribunal proceedings.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive appeal documentation for all parties involved, ensuring clarity and legal compliance.
  • Review case evidence thoroughly and respond to judicial orders within required timeframes.
  • Attend pre-hearing meetings and tribunal hearings as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed case records throughout the mediation and appeals process.
  • Ensure that all aspects of the tribunal process run smoothly, fairly, and professionally.
  • Take notes and support the case preparation process for formal hearings.
  • Provide clear, accurate written responses to all appeals raised.
