Job description

SEN Teaching Assistants are needed for immediate supply positions at a lovely SEN school in the North Tyneside area. We have positions supporting children with needs ranging from ASD, MLD, behavioural issues, to PMLD/complex needs. Pupils' ages range from Nursery through 6th form. Roles may include whole class support or one-to-one assistance.

The school has two nearby sites; staff may be asked to move between them based on support needs. Facilities are excellent, including an on-site hydrotherapy pool, and class sizes are very small.

Experience supporting children with the above needs is advantageous but not essential. A willingness to learn and engage with SEN children is the most important quality.

Ideally, candidates will hold a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher. Other relevant qualifications, such as a degree in Psychology or Education Studies, are also acceptable. Positions vary from short-term to long-term, requiring staff to be flexible and eager to learn from experienced colleagues.

The rate of pay depends on experience and qualifications.

In addition, you must:

• Have a DBS form or be prepared to obtain one.
