Job description

Position: Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Wednesbury
Position Type: Full-time (Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm)
Pay: From £89 per day
Start Date: December 2025

We are looking to recruit a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to work within an all-age school in Wednesbury (WS10). This role would suit someone patient, reliable, and genuinely passionate about helping pupils with additional needs reach their full potential. You will be supporting students across different age groups, offering either 1:1 support or working with small groups of learners with varying SEN. As this is an all-age setting, some pupils may require personal care, so applicants must feel comfortable providing this when needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with a range of SEN
  • Assist pupils with academic tasks, social skills, and emotional well‑being
  • Support pupils’ independence, including personal care where required
  • Contribute to and follow Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and the wider staff team
  • Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
Requirements
  • Experience working in a school is preferred; care experience will also be considered
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN or vulnerable individuals is essential
  • Full-time availability (Monday to Friday)
  • A calm, patient, and flexible attitude when supporting pupils of different ages
  • Strong communication and teamworking skills
  • A DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one

This is a temporary position, unless stated otherwise.
