Job summary

Shropshire Council is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant on a fixed-term contract to support identified pupils with specific additional needs. The role is 30 hours per week, term time only, 8:45am–3:15pm, Monday to Friday, with a start date to be confirmed.

The successful candidate should be positive, patient and adaptable, and enjoy teamwork to make a difference for a child in our schools. The position is fixed-term until 31 August 2027, with potential re-evaluation thereafter.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting identified pupils with special needs.
• Positive, patient and adaptable mindset; works well in a team.
• Ability to collaborate with staff to support a specific child.

Responsibilities

• Support identified pupils with additional needs in classroom activities.
• Work as part of a dedicated staff team to implement planned support.
• Assist with behaviour and individualised learning plans as directed.
