Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Eastbourne
Salary Range: £90 £110 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term

GSL Education are currently seeking a patient and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Primary School in Eastbourne. This role is perfect for someone with prior experience in Special Educational Needs who is passionate about making a meaningful and lasting impact in children's lives.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide support to pupils with various special educational needs, such as autism, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
  • Collaborate with teachers and the SENCO to implement personalised support strategies and interventions.
  • Encourage positive behaviour in both classroom and non-classroom settings.
  • Aid students during lessons to ensure full participation in learning activities.
  • Develop strong, supportive relationships with pupils, staff members, and families.
  • Promote emotional resilience and assist pupils in building their social and interpersonal skills.

Skills & Requirements for SEN TA:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs in a school or care environment.
  • Calm, patient, and optimistic approach, even in challenging situations.
  • Solid understanding of safeguarding guidelines and effective SEN support strategies.
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
  • A detailed CV covering the past 10 years, with all gaps fully accounted for.
