Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is actively seeking Teaching Assistants to support SEN pupils in mainstream primary settings in Sutton. The role offers 1:1 support, helping with learning, emotional regulation and social development under the guidance of teachers and SENCOs.

Ideal candidates will have at least 6 months experience with SEND, a Level 2 TA qualification (Level 2 or 3 desirable), and an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply. Availability Monday to Friday is required.

Responsibilities

The Role:

• Provide 1:1 tailored support for your assigned pupil
• Be confident to support SEND, including ASD, ADHD, Emotional Dysregulation
• Support learning, emotional regulation, and social development
• Work alongside class teachers and SENCOs to implement EHCP target and support plan
• Adapt learning resources to meet individual needs of the child
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

The Ideal Candidate:

• At least 6 months experience supporting children with additional needs
• Ideally hold minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3 desirable)
• Has previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within SEND or inclusion
• Confident supporting pupils with additional needs in a mainstream primary setting
• Patient, empathetic, and committed to pupil progress and well-being
• Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
• Available Monday to Friday

Pay:

• £93 per day for candidates with a minimum of 3 months experience supporting children or young people in an educational, care or SEND setting.
• £100 per day for candidates who hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification and have over 12 months previous experience supporting pupils with SEND including ASc, ADHD, SEMH or SLD or experience with personal care.
