Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a teaching assistant to join our SEN school in Cranleigh. No experience is required as full training and mentoring will be provided. The role supports pupils aged 8-13 with a focus on life skills and core subjects.

The position operates term-time with 5 INSET days, offering ongoing training, wellbeing support, and a £1000 retention bonus for new employees.

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret information for students with a wide spectrum of ability.
• Strong written and oral communication, and organisational skills.
• Good interpersonal and negotiation skills in team or solo work.
• Access to own transport due to semi-rural location.

Responsibilities

• Help deliver core subjects (PSHE, literacy, numeracy) and essential life skills.
• Support student communication using multisensory techniques, Makaton, signs, or specialised aids.
• Provide emotional support to guide self-regulation and help manage anxiety or frustration.
• Work with a dedicated team offering ongoing training, mentoring, and full instruction for personal care duties.
