SEND Teaching Assistant – Speech, Language & Learning Support – Stratford-upon-Avon Location: Stratford-upon-Avon Contract Type: Full-time – Long-term placement Salary: £89 – £105 per day / £445 – £525 per week Axcis Education is working with a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Stratford-upon-Avon, who are looking to appoint a nurturing and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) and learning difficulties (SLD/MLD) across EYFS, KS1 and KS2. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and communication and make progress both academically and personally. The Role: You will: Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SLCN, MLD, and SLD. Use communication strategies such as Makaton, PECS, or visual aids to support pupils’ expressive and receptive language skills. Work closely with speech and language therapists, SENCOs, and teaching staff to implement individualised support plans. Help pupils develop confidence in communication, social interaction, and core learning areas. Adapt classroom resources and provide gentle encouragement to promote engagement and progress. Monitor student development and report observations to the class teacher or SENCO. About You: Experience supporting pupils with SLCN, learning difficulties, or developmental delays is desirable. Calm, patient, and adaptable with strong communication skills. Familiarity with tools like Makaton, PECS, or visual communication systems is a plus. Able to follow structured support plans and be a reliable presence in the classroom. Relevant qualifications (e.g. TA Level 2/3, CACHE, Speech and Language support) are welcomed but not essential.
