Job description

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Do you have experience supporting learners with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join a dedicated team at a special school in South Birmingham.

The school operates across two sites, supporting pupils aged 2-19 years with severe to profound multiple learning difficulties, many on the autistic spectrum. As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will provide one-on-one and group support to students.

This position is available to start ASAP, with options for full-time, daily supply, or half-day (11am-3:30pm) roles.

Requirements:
  1. Experience supporting students with SLD and PMLD is essential.
  2. A compassionate, patient approach to supporting students with special needs.
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with students, teachers, and parents.
  4. A genuine passion for promoting inclusion and empowering students to reach their full potential.
  5. Relevant qualifications or certifications in special education, teaching assistance, or related fields are highly valued.
  6. Willingness to provide personal care when necessary.
