SEN Teaching Assistant - Severe Needs (Full-Time)
Location: Lambeth, London
Salary: 100 - 115 per day (depending on experience)
Job Type: Full-time Monday to Friday Temp to Perm
Start Date: Immediate or flexible for the right candidate
A highly regarded SEN school in Lambeth is seeking a committed Special Needs Teaching Assistant to support students with severe and complex needs, including physical disabilities, autism, profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), and non-verbal communication.
This is a full-time, long-term role with the opportunity to go permanent for the right person.
Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis with a range of severe learning difficulties
Assisting with personal care, mobility, and feeding (where required)
Using communication tools such as PECs, Makaton, or AAC devices
Helping to maintain a structured, positive, and safe learning environment
Working closely with the class teacher, therapists, and SEN staff to deliver personalised learning
Experience supporting children or young adults with severe SEN (education, care or medical setting)
Understanding of complex needs, autism, PMLD or non-verbal learners
Calm, caring and professional approach
Willingness to assist with personal care
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
