Job summary

Milk Education are working with an exceptional SEN school in Newcastle seeking full-time SEND Teaching Assistants to support children with Autism and Complex Needs. This is a full-time, temp-to-perm role starting September 2026.

You will join a welcoming, inclusive team with a strong emphasis on wellbeing and community. The role offers CPD opportunities, flexible days, and a clear path towards permanent placement within a supportive network.

Qualifications

  • Recent/relevant experience working with children and young people in the last two years.
  • Passion for education and a positive attitude.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Ability to work under the guidance of the teacher.
  • Reliable, punctual and committed to safeguarding.

Responsibilities

  • Promote inclusion and acceptance of all children.
  • Support children consistently whilst responding to individual needs.
  • Work with the teacher in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons/plans.
  • Deliver catch-up sessions.

Milk Education are working with an exceptional SEN school in Newcastle that are seeking full-time SEND Teaching Assistants to work with children that have Autism and Complex Needs. This is a full‑time, temp‑to‑perm opportunity for September 2026.

Teaching Assistant – Role & Responsibilities
  • Promote inclusion and acceptance of all children
  • Support children consistently whilst responding to their individual needs
  • Work with the teacher in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons/plans as appropriate
  • Deliver catch‑up sessions
Teaching Assistant Level – Non‑negotiables
  • Must have recent/relevant experience working with children and young people, within the past two years
  • Must have a passion for education
  • Must possess good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Must have the ability to work under the guidance of the teacher
  • Must be reliable and punctual
