Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
Location: Newcastle
Salary: £84 - £110 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Daily Supply, Long-term

Do you have the patience, empathy, and commitment to support children with special educational needs during the most important part of their day?
GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to work full-time from 8:45 AM to 2:48 PM, in a supportive and inclusive school environment in Newcastle. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting impact on the academic and personal development of pupils with additional needs.

Responsibilities of the SEN TA:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with a range of special educational needs (SEN).
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering structured, inclusive learning activities.
  • Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.
  • Encourage the development of pupils’ confidence, independence, and communication skills.
  • Support pupils during classroom activities, break times, and transitions.
  • Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment in line with safeguarding policies.

Requirements of the SEN TA:

  • Experience working with children with SEN ( autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties).
  • A calm, nurturing, and flexible approach to supporting individual needs.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality in an educational setting.
  • A genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential.
  • Relevant qualifications (, CACHE Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are desirable.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
