Job summary

Supply Staff Limited is seeking a caring SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional learning needs in primary schools across Nailsea.

You will work closely with teachers to adapt activities and encourage participation. Previous experience in education or childcare is desirable, with SEN experience as a bonus.

The role is full-time long-term with daily pay of £100–£110, and offers ongoing support from a dedicated recruitment team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children in an educational or childcare setting.
• SEN experience is desirable.
• Patient, understanding and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
• Relevant qualifications in education, childcare or SEN are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.
• Assist teachers in adapting classroom activities to support different learning abilities.
• Help pupils develop communication, social and learning skills.
• Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and independence.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and support pupil wellbeing.
