SEN Teaching Assistant – Ormskirk, Lancashire

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Ormskirk, Lancashire
Salary: £13.75 per hour
Contract: Full-time, Term-time only

About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students aged 5 to 19 who have a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. Your role will involve:

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to students.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Supporting students' social and emotional development.
  • Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure a holistic approach to education.

About You:

  • Empathetic and patient, with a genuine interest in supporting young people with SEN.
  • Adaptable and able to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Committed to fostering an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
  • Willing to engage in ongoing professional development.
  • Previous experience working with children and young adults with SEN is desirable.
