Job summary

TimePlan Education is recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant for a specialist school in Oxford. You will provide one-to-one and small-group support, helping pupils with communication, social interaction and emotional regulation to develop independence and confidence.

With small class sizes and a personalised approach, you’ll collaborate with teachers and specialists to support each pupil’s goals and progress, including assisting with personal care where required.

Qualifications

• Patient, adaptable and enthusiastic, with a genuine interest in supporting children with special educational needs.
• Prior experience in SEN, education, care or support work is beneficial, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are key.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support tailored to individual needs.
• Help deliver engaging activities that encourage learning and development.
• Support pupils with communication, social interaction and emotional regulation.
• Encourage independence and celebrate progress, no matter how small.
• Work alongside teachers and specialist professionals to support each pupil.
• Assist with personal care where required.
