Job summary

Penny Tree School, part of Options Autism and Outcomes First Group, invites applications for Teaching Assistants to support pupils with SEND and help them build confidence and achieve their potential. You’ll work with teachers, therapists and other professionals in a nurturing setting where each pupil is treated as an individual.

Qualifications

  • Experience with SEN is beneficial but not essential.
  • Patience and ability to connect with young people.
  • Willingness to undertake training and development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1, small-group and classroom support to pupils.
  • Build positive relationships to help pupils feel safe and ready to learn.
  • Support teachers to deliver engaging and personalised activities.
  • Encourage development of confidence, communication and social skills.
  • Provide calm, consistent support for positive behaviour and wellbeing.
  • Assist with individualised activities and support strategies.
  • Collaborate with teachers and therapists to provide consistent support.
  • Create a safe, nurturing environment where pupils can succeed.
