Job description

1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant - Full Time (Term Time Only)
Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Schedule: Monday to Friday, Term Time Only
Age Group: 3 - 18 years
Start Date: ASAP

We're looking for a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team in Stoke-on-Trent. This is a full-time position during term time only, working closely with children and young people aged 3-18 with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including:

  1. Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  2. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  3. Challenging behaviours
  4. Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs

What you'll be doing:

  1. Providing 1:1 tailored support, both in and out of the classroom
  2. Helping to implement and adapt individual learning plans
  3. Building strong, positive relationships with pupils to boost their confidence and independence
  4. Supporting behaviour management strategies
  5. Working collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and families

What we're looking for:

  1. Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (in an educational or care setting)
  2. A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach
  3. Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  4. A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners to reach their potential
  5. Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, TA qualifications) - desirable but not essential
