Job description

Overview

Vida Education are looking for an experienced or newly qualified Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our team. In this position you will be working within a specialist SEND provision supporting children from 4-19 years who present with a wide range of SEND from moderate learning difficulties (MLD) and severe learning difficulties (SLD) to Profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD). The school is located in the Barrow-in-Furness area (LA14).

Responsibilities

• Support children with SEND within a specialist provision, adapting activities to meet individual needs.
• Contribute to a nurturing, enthusiastic, and reliable presence in the classroom.
• Provide some personal care where required; a dedicated personal care team is available to assist.
• Work as part of a supportive and progressive team with high expectations for the children.

Requirements

• Prior experience working with children with SEND, including SLD and complex/physical needs.
• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience.
• Hold UK Right to Work Status.
• Complete a registration with Vida Education which includes holding a current Enhanced DBS registered with the DBS Update Service, or be prepared to apply for a new ENHANCED DBS through Vida Education (cost applied).

• Location: Barrow-in-Furness
• Hours: 8:45 – 3:45 (half hour lunch), term time only, 32.5 hours per week
• Type: Temporary contract with possibility of going permanent for the right candidate
• Pay: Apply online only per day, depending on experience
• Start Date: October 2025
