New Bridge School, part of the New Bridge Multi Academy Trust, is recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant Level 1. This fixed-term and permanent post is based at the Roman Road Campus in Hollinwood, Oldham.
The TA1 will work across the Main Body with pupils who have SEND, providing essential support to learning activities, progress tracking, and feedback to teachers. The role is 32 hours per week during term time, with an emphasis on safeguarding and professional development.

NJC scale point 3: £24,796 per annum (full time, full year salary). Actual salary: £19,044 per annum pro rata. SEN Allowance £1,539 per annum. Commencing as soon as notice period of applicant will allow.

The school has an Outstanding rated provision which caters for 363 pupils with a wide range of SEND, from moderate learning difficulties to profound and multiple learning difficulties, including severe and complex learning difficulties. We cater for pupils with physical disabilities, multisensory impairments, visual impairments, hearing impairments and autism spectrum conditions. All pupils have an EHC plan. The school has developed a range of different provisions, including Key Stage 3 main body, Autism Base, Interactive Base and Key Stage 4 Community Living Groups.

The main body provision is for pupils who are working towards a destination of being independent or working with support in their community. The curriculum is underpinned by the intent to maximise the ability for every pupil to live as independently as possible. The curriculum includes English, Maths, Science, Living Skills and RSE delivered by the form tutor; enrichment subjects such as Art, PE, Music and Cooking delivered by specialist teachers. Main body groups are usually 13 pupils or less with one teacher and up to two TAs. As a TA1 you would be assigned to a form group and support this group both when they are with the class teacher and when they move around the school to other subjects.
Although based initially at our Roman Road site, all staff are employed by the MAT and are expected to work at any site within the New Bridge Group.
