Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Lewes is recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a primary class with SEN needs from September. You will work in either KS1 or KS2, providing 1:1 and group support, helping students engage with learning and develop positive behaviours.

The role offers a full-time, term-time schedule in a welcoming school with supportive staff and a commitment to inclusive education. DBS required or willing to apply.

Qualifications

• Passion for supporting children with SEN and behavioural needs.
• Calm, patient and empathetic approach to pupils.
• Ability to build strong trusting relationships with pupils.
• Positive team player with excellent communication skills.
• Experience with children in a school or care setting is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support within KS1 or KS2.
• Help pupils build confidence, resilience and positive relationships.
• Support children to engage successfully with learning.
• Implement behaviour strategies in a calm and consistent manner.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive and structured classroom environment.
