SEMH Teaching Assistant East London Paid Trial Days

Role: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Start Date: September 2025

Hours: 08:30-15:30

Contract: Full time

Location: IG8, Woodford

Rate: 95-110 per day

Interview: Paid Trial

We have a fantastic SEMH Teaching Assistant position a dedicated and high-performing SEMH Teaching Assistant to support a year 6 child in a leading primary school in East London. As an SEMH Teaching Assistant we want you to support the academic growth of this pupil whilst improving the mental and social wellbeing of this pupil.

The ideal SEMH Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience working with students with behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational or special education setting.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods.
  • Ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals.

We're Looking For:

  • A graduate in Criminology, Psychology, or a related field with a strong interest in youth justice or supporting students with SEMH needs.
  • While prior experience is beneficial, full training and support will be provided.
  • Previous experience working as a Behaviour Mentor, Teaching Assistant, or in a similar role.
  • Key understanding of behaviour management techniques and positive behaviour support.
  • A relevant qualification in education, psychology, or a related field (Not Mandatory).
