Overview

SEND Teaching Assistant

Are you an experienced TA with a passion for working with children with complex needs and non-verbal communication?

We are currently seeking a dedicated TA to work one-on-one with a child in reception class at a primary school on the outskirts of Wigan. The child has complex needs including Global Delay and non-verbal communication and requires some personal care including nappy changing. This is a full-time, ongoing role, working 5 days a week, 8:30am–3:30pm. Daily pay rates 95-99 depending on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Work one-on-one with a child in reception class who has complex needs including Global Delay and non-verbal communication.
  • Provide support as required, including personal care (nappy changing).
  • Assist with implementing intervention strategies and supporting communication methods as part of classroom and intervention planning.
Qualifications
  • Qualified to NVQ level 2 qualification (or equivalent) or higher
  • Experience of working with SEND
  • Experience of the National Curriculum
  • Knowledge of the intervention strategies
  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
  • Legal right to work in the UK
