Salary: £86 to £100 per day (Depending on experience)

Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a proactive and supportive SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Sheffield. You will play a vital role in helping students with diverse learning needs to achieve their full potential. Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with teachers to deliver tailored support, ensuring that students with SEN are fully included in classroom activities and are able to access the curriculum.

Your Key Tasks and Duties:

  • Join teachers to create fun lessons, adjusted for SEN students.
  • Help students learn, manage feelings, and build friendships.
  • Provide extra learning time for students, with a focus on SEN needs.
  • Build a welcoming classroom for every student.
  • Organise the classroom and encourage good behaviour.
  • Record student progress, especially for SEN students.
  • Carry out plans to help SEN students learn best.

Position Requirements:

  • A strong passion for helping students learn and grow in a supportive environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills to work closely with teachers and students.
  • Ability to adapt to different learning needs and classroom settings.
  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally working with SEN students in a school (desirable).
  • A CV covering the last ten years (with no unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
