Job description

SEN Support Worker

Salary: £88.94 per day

Location: Plymouth

Full time long term role term time only

ASAP START DATE

At GSL Education, we are supporting an SEND school in Plymouth that is seeking TAs to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis with the idea of going permanent!

The school provides a personalised wrap-around education package to students with complex needs or EHCP pupils at risk of having to be educated in residential placements.

Every child has a high level of support, often including one-to-one support and bespoke timetables following thematic learning experiences. A wide range of personalised learning in and out of the classroom is designed to engage the student, build resilience, and provide the foundation for rapid academic progress.

THE SCHOOL HAS MULTIPLE SETTINGS AND WE ARE SEEKING THOSE HAPPY TO WORK ACROSS KS1-4.

These roles are tough; the children present very challenging behaviour, and you will need to be resilient and committed to this role.

THIS ROLE REQUIRES A UK DRIVING LICENSE AND OWN CAR. You must be happy to use this car for business purposes.

Responsibilities of a SEN Support Worker:

  • Guide students as Learning Mentor, offering personalised guidance and support.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to develop comprehensive support plans.
  • Foster a nurturing environment that promotes improved social interactions and communication skills.
  • Assist with daily tasks, academic activities, and implement effective interventions to address behaviour challenges and promote positive outcomes.
