Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Lytchett Matravers
Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (Depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time / Permanent
Start Date: Immediate or September 2025

GSL Education are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants (TAs) to join a welcoming and inclusive SEN school in Lytchett Matravers. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a lasting impact on students lives and help them thrive academically and personally.

About the Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant in Lytchett Matravers, you will play a vital role in supporting students with a range of special educational needs. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide tailored support, both one-on-one and in small groups. Your contributions will help students build confidence, develop essential skills, and achieve their full potential.

About the school
The school is an education setting based for + years old with Special Educational Needs. It is based on 350 acres of beautiful Dorset countryside. The school operate enterprise activities and vocational teaching methods to bridge the gap between education and employment for young people and adults with SEN in Dorset and the local area. The school focuses on vocations like horticulture, agriculture, equine skills and animal care as well as many more, to enrich the lives and education of its pupils.

Key Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)

  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement personalised learning plans.
  • Deliver targeted interventions to support academic and social development.
  • Promote positive behaviour and model appropriate social interactions.
  • Assist in preparing lesson materials and supporting classroom activities.
  • Monitor and record student progress, sharing updates with staff and families.
  • Work with external professionals to ensure holistic support for students.

Requirements of SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)

  • Previous experience in a SEN TA role or similar educational support position.
  • A genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education or SEN (desirable).
  • Ideally need a valid driving license and be willing to drive.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
