Position Details:

  • Location: King's Lynn, Norfolk
  • Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Hours: 08:00-16:00 Monday - Friday (Term-Time Only)
  • Salary: £13-£15/Hour Inclusive of 12.07% Holiday Pay
  • Contract: Temp to Perm

Key Responsibilities as a SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Support students with emotional and behavioural difficulties, ensuring they remain engaged in learning.
  • Assist teachers in delivering lessons, implementing lesson plans, and adapting resources to meet individual needs.
  • Deliver SEN interventions and work with students in small groups or one-to-one settings.
  • Provide feedback to students and assist with assessments.
  • Work closely with parents, teachers, and external agencies to support student development.
  • Help manage behaviour effectively using positive strategies.
  • Take responsibility for specific areas, such as speech therapy or behaviour management.
  • Supervise students during breaks, educational visits, and extracurricular activities.

SEN Teaching Assistant Skills & Requirements:

Essential:

  • NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent.
  • Level 2 English and Maths.
  • Experience working with students with SEN, EAL, or speech and language difficulties.
  • Experience working in an SEMH School or supporting individuals with SEMH/ Complex Needs.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to work with challenging students.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
  • Must be able to commute to King's Lynn, Norfolk
