Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with special educational needs? Whether you're an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or a Psychology/Mental Health/Similar graduate seeking hands-on experience in a rewarding setting - this is your opportunity to make a real impact. We are looking for compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistants for schools in and around Haringey. You'll work closely with members of the SEN Team and teaching staff to support students with a range of SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) and SEMH (Social Emotional Mental Health) needs.
Ideal for:
Experienced SEN Teaching Assistants looking for a new challenge or a nurturing team.
Graduates in Psychology, Education, Social Work, or related fields keen to build practical experience with vulnerable children and young people.
Aspiring educational/clinical psychologists, therapists, or teachers looking for a meaningful first step.
What You'll Do:
Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to pupils' individual learning and emotional needs.
Foster positive relationships to build confidence, communication skills, and emotional wellbeing.
Support classroom routines, adapt learning materials, and help implement individual support plans.
Work collaboratively with SENCOs, therapists, and parents to ensure consistent and nurturing support.
What We're Looking For:
A genuine passion for inclusive education and supporting vulnerable pupils.
Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to stay calm and positive in challenging situations.
Previous experience in a SEN setting or a degree in Psychology, Child Development, or a similar discipline is highly desirable.
