About the School:
An independent SEN School which supports young people with autism spectrum condition, located in Thamesmead, Greenwich. Looking to maximise every student's potential supported by a bespoke approach to teaching and learning. As well as class teachers the school uses subject teachers like PE & Sport, Art, Design Technology and Cooking. The students also work with professionals such as SALT's and Educational Psychologists.

About the role - Teaching Assistant:
Providing 1:1 and group support and assistance to students with special educational need's (SEN) aged 5 - 13. Working alongside passionate and talented teachers, therapists and educators, the role is ideal for someone looking to support young people looking to gain confidence and life-skills while at school.

The role will consist of:

• Offering support to the class teacher.
• Provide support for individuals and groups of pupils, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.
• Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans.
• Building good student - teacher rapport.

The successful applicants will have:

• Previous experience working with Autism, Speech Language and Communication difficulties.
• Previous experience managing challenging behaviour.
• Ideally experience working with children and/or young people.
• Valid and enhanced child or child and adult DBS check.

To be eligible for this role you must have an Enhanced Child or Child & Adult Workforce barred list DBS Certificate registered on the update service.
