Job description

As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing targeted support to students with SEN, contributing to their academic and social development.

Learning Support Assistant - Teaching Assistant - TA - Education and Training - Braintree

Position: SEN Learning Support Assistant

Location: Braintree

Salary Scale: £90 - £130

Contract Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Work closely with teachers and SENCO to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  2. Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with diverse learning needs.
  3. Adapt learning materials to suit the individual needs and abilities of students.
  4. Assist with the implementation of behaviour management plans.
  5. Foster positive relationships with students, promoting inclusion and belonging.
  6. Collaborate with the wider school team to create an inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
  1. Previous experience as an SEN Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role is advantageous.
  2. Understanding of various SEN conditions and strategies to support individual needs, or willingness to learn.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting students with SEN.
  5. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  6. A commitment to promoting inclusivity and diversity within the school community.
