Job summary

Academics are seeking an experienced Unqualified SEN Teacher to join a specialist school in Ware on a full-time, permanent basis. The role focuses on delivering engaging lessons, supporting students with SEN, and fostering an inclusive, positive learning environment for pupils with diverse needs.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a SEN TA/HLTA or similar, strong classroom management, patience, and great teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) or Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) is essential
  • Experience supporting students with a range of additional needs
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Patient, adaptable, and enthusiastic approach to supporting young people
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to students' individual needs and abilities
  • Support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to achieve their full potential
  • Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies where necessary
  • Work closely with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to support student success
  • Promote students' confidence, independence, and wellbeing
